You might think an “active” profile only includes users who are subscribed to your emails or SMS, right? Wrong.
Klaviyo considers “never subscribed” profiles as active, meaning contacts synced from Shopify—who haven’t explicitly opted in—are still counted toward your bill. This is how cart abandonment emails are sent to users who never formally gave consent.
